Survey · step 1 — BS EN ISO 7010 pictograms
Equipment is located, not decorated.
The kitchen is the high-risk room, so the survey starts here — that pan fire is why. Each symbol lands as a record with real attributes: the extinguisher its rating (21A:113B · BS 5306), the blanket its standard (BS EN 1869). And the detector is a heat detector, not smoke — toast shouldn't evacuate the building.

Survey · step 2 — mandatory means blue
A fire door is a property of the opening.
Watch the big one: the leaf swings open, the self-closer eases it shut, and the KEEP SHUT sign stamps on (FD30S · EN 1634). In MyFloorPlan that's an attribute on the door you already drew — never a duplicate object that can drift out of sync. The two openings in this room's walls are being marked the same way.

Survey · step 3 — BS 5499-4:2019 escape routes
An arrow at every change of direction.
The route plots itself from YOU ARE HERE to the exit — around this text, because escape routes go around obstacles, not through them. An arrow lands at every turn; when the route reaches the exit, the lighting switches on and someone makes the walk. In the product the engine computes this over the real geometry: move a wall and it re-routes.

"Is this current?" — the question every record gets asked.
Everything placed upstairs is back on the clock — weekly call-point tests, monthly lighting flicks, annual extinguisher services. The round is clearing itself below; tap any card to beat it to it. When a fire risk assessor, an insurer or the fire service asks, the answer lives on the plan — not in a binder of mismatched PDFs.
